Well here’s a little bit about us. Let’s start with Jane, she used to be a manager of daycare centers and for several years took a very keen, but part-time interest in photography & our photography business. As she became more involved she quickly became an extremely good photographer in her own right and today she is fantastic in the studio with children and baby sessions, youngsters’ makeovers, and boudoir shoots. Jane is now the studio manager and looks after all our appointments and bookings. She is also inspirational as a photographer and studio assistant as well as being superb at post-production. Jane has been full-time since Jan 2008.
For me, my great passions in life have always been Photography, Music and Radio. I pretty much got ‘ radio ‘ out of my system after spending 16 years at Radio Wyvern in Herefordshire and Worcestershire and have amazing memories of that time ) I Was the first voice on-air, head of music, and went on to become Programme Controller with the radio station.
I was born in Stourport-on-Severn, studied ‘ Photography in Art ‘ to exam level at secondary school, I began taking my photography seriously around 1983. My mentor has always been Peter Tilsley ( Former Chairman of Pershore Camera Club ) – a wonderful photographer and a great friend to this day.
Whilst on the Radio I undertook lots of portrait Photography & PR photography. In September 1998 I decided to change life direction and launched Sammy Southall Photography full-time and happily, the business has grown bigger and bigger year after year and it has turned out to be one of my best ever decisions. It also shows again it’s always best to follow your passion.
Since 2020 we have evolved to concentrate on Boudoir, Makeovers, Headshots, and Grown-up families with our business still flourishing.

I soon became a fully qualified member of the “SWPP” The Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers and “The MPA” Master Photographers Association and remained with them till 2018. These are professional photographers trade bodies that offer recognised qualifications, technical support and continuous training. Since 1998 we have shot thousands of portrait, makeover and PR photo sessions and almost 400 weddings. We no longer cover weddings opting now to pursue my strong and original passion for portraits, makeovers, pin-ups and boudoir photography. Here at Sammy Southall Photography in Kidderminster, Worcestershire we have a fabulous, professionally equipped studio ( recently fully refurbished ) built inside our lovely home and where Sam has lived for over 30 years. You’ll find we always strive to offer the best experience possible with top quality products at a good price. Giving good value has always been very important to us both. With photography, as with most things in life, pretty much you get what you pay for, it’s never wise to pay too much but equally, it’s not going to be a great result if you pay too little.
We both love our business and our photography and are passionate about the images we create. We both love to travel and have shot in and enjoyed Thailand, Malaysia and Goa ( India ) St.Vincent & Grenadines and Barbados in recent years and in the last few years have rediscovered the incredible joys of Spain ( Jane is half Italian and half Spanish ) with many trips to Majorca, Ibiza, Madrid, Valencia, Barbados, New York and the Canary Islands.
Jane and I work together on all Family Portraits, Baby Shoots and Children’s Portraits. With Makeovers, Peggy Sue Pin Ups and Boudoir shoots we also have our amazing Makeup Artists with us in the studio. As well as our regular portrait and makeover work we offer Corporate and Business Portraiture, PR and product photography and Actors Publicity Headshots, ( See Only Headshots ) as well as our Sensual Boudoir Photography (See Only Boudoir ) & ( Boudoir Midlands ).

We have many regular clients who trust us as with their special family photographs. We have lots of couples who after we have taken their wedding pictures come back for baby and family shoots and lots of ladies who having been to us for a makeover book us again for couple shoots or family sessions. I would definitely recommend a photoshoot at Sammy Southall Photography. I booked a bump to baby photoshoot which included a ‘bump’ photoshoot and a family photoshoot with myself, my husband and my beautiful baby daughter. Sammy and Jane made sure that both photoshoots were relaxed and that we felt comfortable with any pictures being taken. The results for both photoshoots were absolutely amazing- better than we could have imagined and the photo prices are really reasonable unlike other photoshoots that I have experienced which were not only expensive but very impersonal, rushed and all in all not a very nice experience. I am so pleased that I have some lovely pregnancy pictures but also some absolutely beautiful pictures to remember my little girls first few weeks. Both experiences were lovely as we felt like we were with friends- Sammy and Jane are both fab and really care about getting the best pictures possible. We will definitely be booking again- the next photoshoot being a ‘Trash the Cake’ for Florences 1st birthday! xxx
